One more innovative event namely 'Student exchange programme' has been designed and implemented by the Principal and staff members of SVGM Govt. Degree College on 16th November 2022. Under this event a batch of lecturers and students has visited the Govt. Degree College, Rayadurg. GDC Rayadurg has the special reputation of standing at second place in Anantapur district in terms of admissions. Hence our Principal Dr.D.Jayarama Reddy has decided to take an interactive tour to this college so that the students will have a better idea of the facilities available in that college. Route map was fixed well in advance. This event incudes 

- lab visits by the students 

- Visit to the library 

- Visit to the Botanical gardens 

- Participation in student induction programme

main objective of this programme is to create an opportunity for the students to interact with the students of neighboring  college as this gives a competitive edge to them. This also strengthens the government colleges as the students from different areas will come to know about the functioning of all the government colleges. This also improves the social skills of the students. 

At the outset our students and faculty members have assembled in the spacious chamber of the Principal at GDC Rayadurg. Later visit to the botanical garden is undertaken and Dr. Vijay Kumar has explained about the species of plants in the garden to our students. This garden is a major attraction of GDC Rayadurg and the credit goes to the gardener. Later our students have visited the library which has a very productive ambience. All the books are well exhibited in the majestic shelves and the librarian who has been working on contract basis for the meagre amount of Rs 6000/- per month has to be appreciated. 

Our students have visited the microbiology department headed by Dr.Kiran. It was such a wonderful interaction and in this process we have learned that Dr.Kiran spends much time with the students. He has got better research exposure and one of his previous students has been selected for Central University. Students of Microbiology have exhibited wonderful social skill and interaction lasted for more than an hour. 

Computer laboratory is also well maintained and the students of both the college have exchanged the information about the teaching methodologies followed by their faculty members. 

Commerce computer laboratory is also well maintained. Faculty members of SVGM GDC Kalyandurg namely G.L.N.Prasad, Dr. B.Sreedevi, Dr.P.Suryanagi Reddy,  A.Rukmini Bai and Masineni Sudhakar have participated in this event. 

The Principals of both the colleges Dr.D.Jayarama Reddy and Dr. Raghurama Murthy deserve special appreciations for undertaking such an innovative and fruitful programme.
